There’s a reason so many people love living in Central Oregon. From the beautiful scenery to the abundance of unique activities, there’s always something fun to do around here. Bend even boasts 300 days of sunshine a year, making it easy to enjoy the area all year round!

At the Central Oregon Collective, we embrace all the fun activities there are to do in the place we call home! It’s important for us to foster a community of inclusion for our residents and getting involved in what’s going on around town is a huge part of that.

Our employees play a vital role in helping those with developmental, intellectual, and/or physical disabilities participate in community life when they otherwise might have barriers to doing so. We bridge that gap for them to create a better, more enriched quality of life through all kinds of activities.

Summer is a busy time for us! We like to get out and enjoy the warm sunshine by exploring Central Oregon’s beautiful scenery. We make excursions to local lakes, rivers, and other popular hiking spots near town. We also like to travel a bit further sometimes; our longer trips have been to the Wildlife Safari, in Winston, OR, and even the Oregon Coast. In the wintertime, you might find us catching a movie or working on an art project at our Community Center. We try to find activities that everyone can enjoy, and we love to have fun!

None of this would be possible without our exceptional staff. They help the people who live in our homes enjoy all their hobbies and interests. They also enable them to have new experiences that they wouldn’t be able to have on their own. This fosters meaningful relationships between caregivers and residents that leave our employees feeling a sense of fulfillment from the work that they do. We have an extensive training program to help them feel fully equipped to do that work, and we ensure that they feel completely supported along the way.

We envision communities of full inclusion, personal choice, and meaningful contribution for all. That’s why we take care in hiring people who value mutual respect, and generosity, and who bring passion to their work. We are committed to each other and ensure that each person is affirmed and understood whether they are an employee or a resident.

With us, it’s about more than a paycheck. You can use your work week to make a tangible, long-lasting difference in the lives of others. Plus, you get to enjoy all the fun activities that we do together!

If this sounds like a community you’d like to be part of, good news! We’re hiring. We’re currently in need of Direct Support Professionals to work with the residents at our four homes in Bend, Oregon.

As our services are expanding, we will also have positions in employment services, event planning/coordination, and community outreach. Our goal is to work together with other area nonprofits to effect more positive change in the areas of low-income housing, homelessness, veteran services, and access to other vital community services for the betterment of our community as a whole! We’d love to have your partnership in this mission.
